2 month check

This is a post when you can tell me how cute my baby is :) Just kidding. More than anything, I need to chronicle some of Briggs' life so when I finally get to scrapbook his first year I have this information recorded somewhere.

I took these pictures when Briggs was two months, but we didn't get to go for his well-check/shots until this week. Here's the stats for month #2:
Weight . . . 14 lbs (84%)
Height . . . 16 inches (52%)
Head . . . 23.5 inches (44%)
Yes, Briggs is no longer a skinny lil baby; he's filled out quite nicely. I honestly can't get enough of him. He is a good little snuggler with his body, but loves to crank his head back at the neck so he can see better. He definitely has a default position, which is looking to the right, so we're trying to keep him rotated so he doesn't have a flat head. Now that he's strong enough that's kinda a silly game though. I move his head to look up or to the left and, flip, he's got it looking to the right. I like to think that's where the angels show up or something. He likes looking at lights and fans and I love that nothing cracks him up sometimes. We've gotten some good chuckles from his shrieks of joy and big grins. Briggs is sleeping pretty well; better than I remember the other kids at this point. At about 6 wks. he started sleeping from about 10 or 11 until 5 or 6, nursing real quick, and then going back to sleep for a couple hours. He's also a good napper (Hallelujah!). He really likes his swing and when we went to Montana I realized how much I used it as Briggs' didn't want to fall asleep and I was wishing I could put him in the swing to get him sleepier. I have found that he grunts in his sleep A LOT and is a tootin' machine, but it doesn't seem to disturb him (must take after his dad!) We've had some pooping issues in the irregularity of his movements, but, I guess, with primarily nursefed babies it's normal. My friend Jeannie said that her doc said there's no commandment that says "Thou shalt poop every day." While I know many disagree, it makes me feel better for Briggs' sake. The kids are great with Briggs. Mackenzie is a huge help and will hold him when he's fussy. Caylee is fabulous with him in the car. She'll sit with him and feed him a bottle in a pinch and gets really worried when he starts to cry. While I am okay to let him fuss for a bit every now and then, the kids all get uncomfortable with his unhappiness (and the noise, I'm sure). Brevin and Brock like to get RIGHT into Briggs' face and I've caught Brock picking him up when Briggs is fussing, which, luckily I've been able to stop Brock before he tries to get mobile with Briggs in his arms. A lot of people say Briggs looks like me and a lot of people say he looks like Tyler, but I do believe he has his own little morphed look of the other two boys. I just think he's wonderfully sweet and loving and I'm enjoying him because I know (as has been my experience with Brev and Brock) he'll be driving me wild and crazy in a year or so.

I think he looks so much like Brevin, who I think looks so much like Tyler, I can't see much of you in him. Sorry. Maybe when the hair comes in. Give him some spikey bangs and maybe I'll see a resemblence of you when you were young. JK!

Wow! he has really chunked out hasn't he. From the mother of two chunky babies, I can say I like them better that way. More to grab onto and cuddle I guess. Can't wait to see what three months brings. : )

What a cute little grin! I can't believe he's getting so big already. I'm sure you're in more disbelief than I am. I'm off to do some challenge scrapbooking during naptime. I won't mention my page total!

Is he really on 16" long? His look has totally changed. All filled out and no more newborn look. There's nothing better than a good-sleepin' baby.

I have a distinct memory from back in college that tells me his tootin' comes from the maternal line. (:

i love that you are documenting all this - my friend Jen did it for her little guy's first year and then she just took her posts and made them into a book. i also love that you use the bear for reference.

i think your kids all look like a good mix of you both but i have to say - little B is really a carbon copy of tyler.

In the smiley pic, he looks just like Nate to me. And since Nate is the boy version of you, I think that Briggs looks like you. So there:)
